Just finished a couple of day recording at Rockcliffe studios in Llandudno. We were helping out a friend of ours, Daniel Tordoff, for his uni project. But we also managed to make a little demo of 2 of our newer songs.
First day got down most of the parts for a worship we covered in order to make a more acoustic song for this uni project. We also tracked all the drum and bass parts as Joe T couldn’t be there for the seconde day, and Alex, well… We even added some ace percussion (djembe and bongos) in Closer!
We recorded Freefall and Closer.
Today we finished off the guitars (including solos – eek) and vocal parts.
I’m fairly happy with my performance, even though it is quite sloppy in parts, but given the time we had its alright.
I have to admit after doing the vocals for the worship song I was a bit scared of how the vocals on our songs would sound. But All Who are Thirsty is actually a very hard song to sing (quite high in the verses). I guess it gave Bryn the chance to warmup a bit. But serious, the vocals on our own songs are ace.
I’ve put up a very very quick rough mix of closer on our myspace. But I mean its not even edited, and theres hardly any bass, but its an idea of what it will sound like.
